SAIC Motor shows 100 models at Auto Guangzhou
Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor exhibited over 100 new models of 10 brands at the 19th Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition on Nov 19.
The 10 brands included IM, R Auto, Roewe, MG, Maxus, Volkswagen, Audi, Buick, Chevrolet, and Cadillac.
SAIC Motor plans to invest 300 billion yuan ($46.97 billion) in smart electric vehicles and other innovative fields from 2021 to 2025 in an effort to transform itself into a user-oriented high-tech company.
Leading EVs with advanced technologies
The IM-branded L7, a luxury pure electric smart car, is equipped with self-developed intelligent driving system IM AD, which boasts a powerful hardware system, all-process data driving and automated iteration capabilities, as well as a unique "trust enhancement experience".
Currently, the IM L7 is being tested in the first- and second-tier cities around China, challenging the busy downtown and nighttime driving scenarios. A small number of IM L7 vehicles will be delivered by the end of this year.
The R Auto R7 is equipped with the self-developed high-level full-stack intelligent driving system PP-CEM TM, which forms an all-weather, beyond-visual-range, multidimensional perception system with laser radars, 4D imaging radars, a high precision map, visual cameras, millimeter-wave radars, as well as other sensors. Coupled with a super environment algorithm model and closed-loop data, it greatly improves the safety of intelligent driving.
The first full-size smart luxury pure electric MPV Maxus MIFA 9 is created based on the new-generation Maxus Intelligent Flexible Architecture (MIFA). It features fashionable and customized design, extra-large space, as well as high-level safety.
The vehicle allows its driver to switch driving modes in different scenarios, while its independent luxury back seats offer passengers a comfortable riding experience.
The MPV Maxus MIFA 9 provides all-around security protection with an industry-leading body structure, seven airbags, ultra-long side airbags, as well as central and far-end airbags that are being used for the first time in China. In addition, it has a driving range of 520 kilometers, providing drivers with a comfortable driving experience.
The pure electric crossover SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 features an ultra-short front suspension and an ultra-long wheel base, with a 5-meter turning radius. Since this year, nearly 22,000 SAIC Volkswagen ID. Vehicles have been sold.
The SAIC Audi luxury pure electric SUV Q5 E-Tron adopts 83.4 kWh battery modules to extend its driving range to 560 km. With the latest electric quattro technology, its maximum power reaches 225 kW and the vehicle can deliver 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.7 seconds. This model also boasts a 10.25-inch digital dashboard, an 11.6-inch MMI infotainment touchscreen, and AR-HUD.
The mass-produced version of the luxury pure electric mid and large-sized SUV LYRIQ by Cadillac is the first product to apply the electric platform Ultium developed by SAIC-GM.
The LYRIQ CLTC boasts a 650 km driving range after a full charge, and a 96 km driving range after a 10-min charge. It supports fast charging in its whole lifecycle. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with a 33-inch 9K ultra-high resolution circular screen, as well as the latest driver assistance system Super Cruise.
